Last week I was honoured for the opportunity to attend an Orangeville Dinner Series. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend one of these events, it is a MUST! Some of the top chefs in Orangeville get together and create a meal like you have never seen before!

The Orangeville Dinner Series Fundraiser was an 8-course tasting menu where these awesome local chefs used amazing Canadian ingredients and added an Aboriginal flare! I gotta tell ya, the food was OUTSTANDING!

Buffalo Tartare

Course 1 – Buffalo Tartare

This was my first experience with Buffalo Tartare…and it was out-of-this-world!

Course 2 – Smoked Pickerel

I love fish – and pickerel is no exception. The pickerel was served on a bannock crouton (which was my favourite part!). There was a smokey flavoured oil drizzled on the plate which was the only part of this dish that I would have changed (I found it took away from the flavour of the bison broth that was served with the fish)

Course 3 – Wild Turkey Meatballs

Mmmmmmmmmm……….

Unfortunately, I had to leave the event after this course (darn work….), so I have to give a huge shout-out to Julie Elsdon-Height of www.soberjulie.com (who was at the event serving an AMAZING Apple Ginger Cider Mocktail.) Thank you so much Julie for taking all the rest of the pics for me! Make sure to hop over to her blog – she always has the most amazing recipes, giveaways and great stories!

Course 4 – Harp Seal Loin

Course 5 – Wild Mushrooms

Course 6 – Roasted Mono Cliffs Venison

Course 7 – Caramelized Maple Syrup

Course 8 – Spruce Panna Cotta

Thank you so much to Debora Egerton and the entire team at Dufferin County Cultural Resource Circle for inviting me to this awesome event. I can’t wait to attend the Honouring Youth Pow Wow in June! It’s going to be quite the event! Keep up to date with their fundraising events on their website or Facebook page.

Also a huge shout-out to all of the great chefs who participated. Make sure to hop over to Facebook and give The Orangeville Dinner Series a “like” to keep up with the next events! I will definitely be attending the next Dinner Series!!
