About Lisa Post
Lisa Post (nee Raeburn) grew up in Orangeville. Her grandfather, Alex Raeburn, was a School Board Trustee and Regional Councillor — someone who showed her early that community responsibility is something you live, not just talk about. Four generations of her family have called this place home.
She didn’t start out in politics. At 18, she went to work in retail management to help support her young family. What she found there — surrounded by people from every walk of life — was a passion for the kind of work that makes a real difference. That led her to non-profit volunteering, to community boards, and to the realization at age 39 that she wanted a deeper understanding of how communities are actually built. So she enrolled in the Bachelor of Community Development program at Humber College.
The rest followed naturally. Town Councillor in 2018. Mayor in 2022. Warden of Dufferin County in 2026. Not because politics was the plan, but because the community kept pulling her forward.
Leadership grounded in listening.
Whether at the Council table, the County, or in conversations with provincial and federal partners, Lisa’s approach starts with hearing people out. Not as a formality, but as the actual first step in making good decisions.
When residents in the west end told us the transit routes weren’t working for them, the town started a formal route review. When businesses raised concerns about development charges, those concerns shaped the updated framework council approved. When the food bank hit a crisis point, the community organized a food drive that brought in 35,000 pounds in a matter of weeks. That kind of response doesn’t happen without leaders who are paying attention.
Lisa is committed to transparent, collaborative governance that explains decisions — not just announces them — and that holds the town accountable to long-term sustainability, not short-term convenience.
Community service has always been central to who I am.
Long before becoming Mayor, Lisa was showing up for Orangeville in quieter ways. She chaired the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Cultural Plan Task Force as a councillor. She sat on the boards of Community Living Dufferin, Community Safety Partners, and Hospice Dufferin as a volunteer. She organized fundraisers, worked with youth, and spent years building relationships with the organizations that hold this community together when government isn’t looking.
That work wasn’t about building a profile. It was where she learned what Orangeville’s real gaps looked like, and what it takes to close them. It’s also where she built the trust that makes governing possible.
That experience continues to shape her leadership today.
On a personal note, Orangeville is home.
Four generations of my family have called Orangeville home, and I hope to keep building on that legacy. I have raised my children here, invested my time here, and chosen this community at every fork in the road.
Being a mom, a long-time volunteer, and a resident who genuinely loves this town gives me a different kind of appreciation for the everyday realities facing families, seniors, youth, and local businesses. I see this community through the eyes of someone who has lived it, not just governed it.
Serving as Mayor is both a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously. I am committed to working collaboratively, stewarding public resources responsibly, and helping build an inclusive, connected, and future-ready Orangeville — for today and for generations to come.

Nominated by Humber College. Described in nomination material as “a transformational leader championing equity, diversity and inclusion, dedicating much of her political career to representing marginalized voices and building strong social policies.
